Hi folks: Question
When I had the US Gear over installed the drive was balanced with-out the ring dampner mounted on the front. I have a vibration in the drive line I think may be the dampner. How is it balanced in unison with the drive shaft. This seem to have caused a problem with the tail shaft bushing in the transfer case. Is this possible? The tail shaft is being relaced Monday along with the clutch. If this could be a problem I would like to get it fixed with the new tailshaft.

Thanks.
Preston

Can't answer the balancer guestion. BUT--
most common cause of vibration after having drivelind apart MAKE sure all grease zerks are lined up .
don't believe it turn one 90 deg.

Some U joints are not as "square" as they should be, and some installers aren't careful and dirt, etc. can get them out of squre in the yoke. This can cause out of balance too.

Make sure the zerks are under compression not tension so the joint won't fail by cracking at the hole when torque "stretches" it. Just imagine the engine trying to twist and the diff resisting, so you can visualize which position places the zerk under compressive force.
