Hello everybody, got 2 different questions today...

First, will worn-out tires contribute to drivetrain howl?

and...

When I'm backing uphill, I get a squeak, squeak, squeak about every half-a-second... any ideas?

Thanks in advance... Michael

Howl caused by tires should change with different typs of pavement surfaces. I suspect a U-joint could be the cause of your squeak.

Thanks, that figures about the u-joints, seems to be the new thing!

It isn't covered under warranty is it?

If not, I'm gonna try after-market if anyone's got them, remember a thread about a serviceable Spicer...

The u-joint will cause both the squeak and howl. It squeaks because it is froze up and because it is froze up it is not letting the drive shaft pivot on

the u-joint rollers and messes up the drive line angles. I have had several trucks do this and u-joint replacement cured problem.
