Seems this 18 tradesman doesn't offer much in the way of options for extra driving lights? What have you guys done?

here is a thread from the other ram site. looks a bit complicated to me. cheers comrade !

That thread is for a 2019+ truck though.....

If @p-Bar wants an OEM look.....he will have to go with a new front bumper with fog light holes, the mounting structure for the fog lights, fog lights, and then either buy or fabricate a wiring harness, a headlight switch, and then add the sales code for the fog lights. There’s more advantages in skipping the headlight switch.....one can use a quality 12V relay, have the trigger wire triggered with parking light circuit, and then, with a simple switch for the fog lights only, one can select them on or off with parking lights, on or off with low beams, or on or off with high beams.

I added them to my 2013 3500 DRW and my 2014 DRW.

Ozy I'm worried about blocking any cooling to the trans . I think I'll look for a bumper pull off. I have all the Aux switches and wiring harness.

Good looking truck GS

Light bar doesn't block enough air flow to worry about. I added a Torklift tow hitch that goes between the tow hooks in that slot and saw zero difference in trans temps, even in 110+ Arizona summers. Their is a benefit to having a light bar in there, it protects the cooler from rocks and reduces the amount of bugs that are splatted on the fins.

So I can cut these in the plastic spoiler area below .

Most led pods are not suitable for running in traffic as the don't have patterns with well defined cutoffs. Exception is Rigid DOT legal fog lights but they aren't cheap. The cheap led lights should only be used where you would run high beams.

I have noticed the same with my Draw-Tite front receiver which mounts is the same place.

He is looking for driving lights, to me that's high beam?
LED is the way to go today, everything else is just outdated.

Dont go with the cheapest ones you find, I'd say around 100-150$ a pair is good quality. Sure the chepos work to, but how long and how is the light pattern. I had chepos that turned yellow within 2 years.

Some people consider the factory fog lights to be driving lights. That is why I pointed out that the blob pattern LEDs shouldn't be used with the low beams. The Rigid DOT legal fogs can be though as they are fog lights just like the factory fogs. I agree that these days for true driving lamps, led is the way to go; however, for long range the halogen and HID pencil beams will beat the LED for range. I have Rigid hyperspots combined with Spectre Driving lights on my truck and the Hella Black Magic with 100W bulbs I have on my jeep reach out further and frankly do a better job of illuminating the roadway for high speed driving with their bow tie beam pattern. The Spectre do provide a wider close range beam than the black magic does so are nicer for forest roads. Lights are all a trade off.

lpenneck I agree as cutoff is important but I will only supplement when off road or 2 lane road. Ozy I do agree will search out others .

If you go with the cubes, look at using one Rigid Spectre Driving combined with one Rigid Spot or Hyperspot cube. I'm actually using two of each but is because I bought the Specte first and the long range wasn't enough for me but close in is great. The patter is about half way between an flood and a spot.

If you go with a bar, Rigid has one that has Spectre combined with Hyper Spots.

I agree. Fog lights are only on low beam and driving lights are only on high beam. That's law in Pennsylvania. Fog lights are low usually below bumper or in. Driving lights are usually above the bumper.
