driving light's that won't blind?

Has anyone found a set of driving lights that will replace the factory fog lamps and won't blind oncoming drivers? I have found lots of lights that are the right size but all of them say for off-road use only or say to wire into the high beam switch. I tried a search but couldn't find anything that said such and such a set was traffic friendly.



I did find a good setup for reverse lights. I mounted a single ralleye light to the reciever hitch and a set of 3A racing wide beams to my headache rack. 165 watts of light in addition to the stock lamps makes a huge differnce. here is a pic of the result, the street is 75 feet away from the truck.

I have been looking for something too. I have searched high and low. Some say the Piaa 510's will fit the factory fog holes but the only person I could find that had them on his truck said that they were too bright for full time use. the Piaa 60XTs will work but I think they look best if you don't have the foglight option. There is a picture of a truck that has them on this site. Do a search under PIAA 60XT and it will pull it up. I have seen a couple people mount 6 inch plus round lights to the bumper directly in front of the grill but there are some clearance issues that call for some creative light brackets. If you want to go the brush guard route this will open up several options for you but I decided for various reasons not to go this route.



Another solution is to use Geno's light box ($90) which will allow you to run your bright and low beam simultaneously. A second easy mod allows you to run your fogs with high beams which I have found useful on my truck. One thing I have noticed on my truck is that I can run with high beams on continually and people very rarely flash their lights back at me. I have gone as far as using the fogs, brights, and lows all on at once and not been flashed. I did this by pulling the turn signal lever back momentarily. Don't do this for more than a few seconds as it pulls both high and low beam wattages through the same circuit.



Yet another option is to switch to Sport headlights which I have been told does wonders... especially when running all four lamps at once.



I am like you though, it would be nice to have some full time driving lights. One fella even said to use whatever you want but just to point them down low. I'm not sure about how well that would work though.



If you want some decent lights at a decent price, try some Hella 550's. I've never had a set but from my all my readings on the subject, the overall consensus seems to be that they are ok lights.
