Chain Requirements

My buddy just bought a trailer to get his rockcrawler to the trail. He got an 18'er with brakes on one axle, treated wood deck, slide in ramps, and bulldog coupler. Only thing he wanted that would have upped the price another $500 was 10g treadplate fenders. It has the rolled 16 gauge junk. Has anybody here modified these fenders or created some sort of guards to where they could drive over? This trailer is 83" in between the fenders and his K5 is 87" wide at the bulge with 42" swampers. Thanks! We've got a run on Thursday and dont want to crush the thing in the driveway!

Sounds like he forgot one of the mose important things when shopping for a trialer to haul off-road trucks. Make sure you find a dealer that offers removable fenders, their is no other way to go. Take about 30 secound to pull the fenders off this trailer then you just drive over the trailer tires. Since it is to late in your case I would make the fenders removable, sounds like he has the ability to build a rock crawler so he should beable to do a little wleding and cutting and make the fenders removable. Mine are held on by 4 jeep type hood latches on each fender, 2 front and 2 back.
