Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Driving Without Gauges

I will hopefully be getting my truck this weekend... It is a 99 2500, and the only gauge it will have in it is a fuel pressure gauge for about a week until i can get enough money to order my gauges... I drive 40 miles to & from work and most of all of it is interstate where i will be going around 70-75mph. . Do I have anything to worry about temps or anything else. . Its is a stock truck with just a shift kit installed in the transmission which is an automatic. . I will also not be towing with it or anything until I get those gauges...

You should be fine. I never saw over 900* pre turbo, when stock. Now, it's a different story. :-laf

There's a whole bunch of folks out there on the interstate with you that don't even look at the stock dash guages, much less install add on guages.

Yep, I have been planing on geting gauges in this truck asap but work has slowed down and i have to watch my spending . Being all stock exept exhaust system the only thing i worry about is my fuel pressure. Im not doing any thing to this thing until i get gauges. It sounds like your in good shape and on the right path Bkenny.

Seems to me you already have the most important stock/BOMBed guage in there already. Boost, EGT, etc will be fine until you BOMB, fuel pressure is feisty even with a stock engine. Enjoy the truck! Mine is a 99 and I love it!

Like has already been said, you'll be fine for a week, I would be more worried about what they did for the last 5 years

I am now driving without guages! I had to take off my Blue Chip FMS to send in to get a glitch fixed. No big deal, as the truck is stock now If I priority ship it next day air ($$) Chip should get it soon! At least I don't need my truck for work and she can stay in the garage.
