Okay,

I've always had a drone in this truck from 17-1900 RPMs when pulling a hill or loaded(or both). After installing the TST power kit I now get the drone from 1700 all the way through 2100 RPMs when using power. There is a TSB on the subject which suggests it could be the driveline or exhaust. I think it is exhaust, and am planning to have a 4" system installed on Wednesday.

Has anyone else experienced this, and how did you solve it??

Yes, I have drone. I also have a 4" exhaust, but it has a narrow band around 2,100 rpm. I'm planning to use double mufflers to quiet the drone.

Is RIP doing your 4" exhaust?

He knows how to deal with the infamous drone on many exhaust systems.

Yes Rip is doing my exhaust.

TSB 16-02-95 talks about the possibility of the drone coming from the Driveline. Has anyone heard of this actually happening?

I have had my Jardine for over 2 years now. I got real tired of the drone while towing my TT or on long trips. My ears were always ringing! Just before the NWBombers Bombing party at Rob Hanson's in February, I call Rip and asked him to bring a 20" MagnaFlow and lots of band clamps with him to the party. I kept the original 24" MagnaFlow from Jardine and installed the 20" MagnaFlow as close to the front of the truck as possible.

What a difference! You can't believe how much quieter it is, both inside and outside.

I guess I'm getting old. Kind of like the quieter sound.
