I have the MBRP duals in 4inch and the drone is out of this world. It would probably be OK if the kitty was there but mine is history and had to add a long muffler up in place of it to tame it down.

The part # you gave could be a different muffler than what came with the dual kit.

I put that muffler on my 03 when I upgraded the whole system to 4". It has some dronre @22-2300RPM when WOT. It is not that bad. The benefit of lower EGT's is worth it for me. And it sounds great during normal driving. And FYI my 5er is 14500 fully loaded.

Have had my MBRP muffler on for 25,000 miles. I still have the cat on the system. Never have had a drone at all- any rpm -with load or no load. Great product.

I just replaced my 5" system that I got a couple of years ago from DPP with the MBRP single 4" aluminized... drone is still there noticeably around the 2,000 rpm range, but less than the 5"... but definately still enough to be annoying.

I have the MBRP on my Mega Cab and it has lost the cat and the resonator. At high boost numbers working the truck pulling my boat it drones so bad it almost hurts (22 to 2500rpms. ) When your just cruising with low boost numbers it is just fine at any rpm. The drone is well worth the milage and egt help.

Mine droned around 2000-2200 with the MBRP duals. Empty or towing.

Others report no drone. I can't figure out if it's a problem with just some trucks or if some drivers are more or less sensitive to that type of noise.

My 2005 is a quad cab long bed with MBRP T-304 cat-back "Cool Duals". I have an intolerable drone at 2,200 RPM under load (towing, pulling a long upgrade). The kitty's still there, and the exhaust system is definitely NOT contacting the axle, springs, shocks, frame, bed floor, or spare tire. May try the MBRP resonator between the kitty and the muffler, cause this drone's deafening and driving me !@$# nuts.

#@$%!

May be a little off topic, but I also had bad drone problems as well above 2100 rpm. It was a lot of work, but I ordered some FatMat (similar to Dynamat Xtreme) sould insulation and placed underneath the carpet and on the back wall. I'm still in the process of doing the doors. It really made a big difference, cutting the drone approximately in half. Before the sound mat install, I was debating putting the muffler back on, as the drone really started bothering everyone on long trips. I'd estimate the install took about 10 hours start to finish, but now I've still got the deep throaty straight pipe sound with the windows down, and quiet, reduced-drone cruising on long trips!

Thanks for the pics!

I did the back wall of my truck, and it helped some... next is the complete floor since going to the 4" exhaust didn't make as much difference as I was hoping.
