While I'm at a stop light or any other time I am sitting and idleing in drive with my foot on the brake I hear some kind of droning noise. I have a 4" exhaust with a muffler. It kind of sounds like when I let the rpms down to about 1125-1250 while in overdrive ( auto ). It is a low frequency hum, sort of like bass from a ricer or something.

It just started last week and it is starting to get annoying. You can talk over it easily but it almost seems to dround out that wonderful diesel rattle :( . When I put it in neutral or park it goes right away.

The only change I've made recently is removing the silencer ring.

What could be causing this low pitch hum at idle ??

TIA

Jeff
