Software upgrades completed (01/07) - report problems here

I am refering to the grey box some people get when you first log on or enter the site. Its at the top of the page where the pull down menus are. My probelm is it seems to be getting worse refreshing the page doesnt seem to work anymore and even changing pages takes several times before the box will disapear is there any cure for this...

I still get that gray rectangle whenever I first to to the web page. It happens regardless of what browser I use. However, if I click on page reload it has always gone away. Unfortunately I still have not found a way to have my username and password "stick. " I use Linux as my OS and have tried Mozilla 1. 7. 5, Firefox 1. 0, and Epiphany 1. 4. 7. Now Epiphany does remember, but it doesn't have features I have become used to in Mozilla. Firefox will remember my username but whenever I click login the password disappears and doesn't get saved. And it isn't just a Linux thing, it happens in Windows with Explorer, Mozilla 1. 7, and Firefox 1. 0. I know when I go to "secure" sites like my bank it will not save my login info but the TDR isn't a "secure" site. Any idea what setting I need to change? I've cleared cookies and set TDR as a "trusted" site but still can't get Mozilla to "remember. " There is obviously something I'm missing somewhere, but I did not have this problem with the "old" software. Not that I'm complaining about the new software. But what has changed between the two to cause this? So please, someone, point me in the right direction.

You may have some security software that is restricting cookies. You do need to check the remember me box when you login otherwise it won't remember you either.

I've been looking for a solution for the ocassional grey box thing but haven't found one yet. It's VERY hard to troubleshoot because I will go several days sometimes without getting it and then it will pop up just once. I don't know any reason that it would have gotten worse recently - have you changed anything on your PC or net connection recently? That might help me troubleshoot it.

The box is already checked with I open the web page. I've tried unchecking it and then recheck it, but that doesn't help.

I always get the grey box. I haven't changed anything on my computer other than "normal" updates to the programs I use. Is there anything I should check on my router or DSL modem setup that you can think of? This isn't a real big deal, but it is annoying.

Try logging in on the forum home page rather than the front page of the site and see if that makes a difference - you will have to check remember me on that page, it is unchecked by default.

The question about changing anything recently was for DF5152 - I should have been clearer. He said that it's happening more and more often for him. Since I have a very hard time reproducing it (it happens maybe once in every 500-800 pages for me) it would help if I could come up with a rhyme or reason that it happens.

Tried from the forum page. My username was already showing, input my password and checked the "Remember Me" box. When I clicked login my password disappeared from the box and I was logged in. For some reason something somewhere doesn't like my password being saved. Oh well. . . .

It would happen every time i hit the page and i would have to navigate a few times before it would go away. I just install regular updates nothing else. I noticed you just did a software up grade and when i hit the page today everything was as it should be. so maybe the update took care of the problem...

The last few times I've gone to the TDR web page the rectangle has been gone! Now if I could just figure out why my password isn't "remembered. "
