i drove a new 04. 5 and i liked the way it drove then i drove a 04 and it drove the same the newer one was just quieter and the exaust was a little les diesel smell but i did notice the 04. 5 was a lot hotter out of the exaust at an idle and if you let them idle more than a few minutes it will idle up by itself both trucks were auto 3. 73 lwb quadcab 4x4 the new one didnt impress me none my 98. 5 with 4 inch exaust and edge ez is about the same just the 48 re on the new ones shifts better and are less noisy still looking for a 600 with 6 speed thanks

I also drove a 2004. 5

I have a 2004, 235 california special.

I installed the EZ 1000 and my truck will out power the 325/600. .

Any one else have this combo???? Come back, Marty

I've got a 04. 5 and my initial impression off the lot was that it was a dog also. It is definitely coming to life though after 500 plus miles. SOP feel now it is about like my 98. 5 with EZ alone or stage II injectors alone. No comparison to the 98. 5 with stage II's/TST PM3 combo but I'm not sure that's a fair evaluation. The real test will be towing a load which I will do this weekend - it does feel like the power really comes on better in 5th/6th gears (almost feels like there is no boost at lower gears - ? electronic wastegate doing this to keep power down until load is up and moving?) My feeling/hope is that this will be a good pulling rig that won't need any engine upgrades to get a load down the road like I've felt the previous models would require.

The feel off the lot was a little iffy but I'm getting more :D as the miles go by! If you're gonna test drive one, you oughta find somebody's with a few miles on it... my . 02
