Drove a "600" today... runs terrible!!!

Drove a friends brand new "600" today. (2500, 6 speed, long bed, 4X4) He is new to the diesel thing. (I have a '95 5 speed with a few mods) anyways, he wanted me to take it for a ride just now to see what I thought... something is DEFINATELY wrong with that motor. At approx. 2,000 rpm with average acceleration the motor start to make "spark knocking" noises and starts lightly bucking and running out of power. (best way for me to describe it) If I kick it down, it seems to spool up and take off.

Have any of you guys seen this too? Thanks for the information and I'll be telling him what to tell the dealer when he takes it on there next week. Regards, Jeff

Klenger beat me to it. Those are the symptoms of some of the early build trucks.



I was discussing this in another thread, but my early build has none of those symptoms. Come drive mine..... you'll be like this:
