I drove a 4x4 3500 with the G56, loaded. I'm still up in the air on how they look on the outside, but I really like the inside! It's freakin' huge. And that's where I'd be most the time, so... Anyway, the G56 shifted nicely, but is geared pretty low. It felt like you should start out in 3rd. If I were to get one, it would probably be the auto. About 10mph faster at the same rpm. I rode very well, really smooth. Could I give up the 8' bed and the ~$50K? I'm not sure yet. If the wife would go for it, the '97 would probably be gone. Of course with all the $$$ and work I've put in it in the last year, that probably ain't gonna happen until Ford owns Cummins. :-laf

This has not really been a problem for me on convincing the wife,in fact just the opposite she wants one, and I say no we do not need that much cab room. In fact now it's usually just the two of us going much any more, teenage boy of mine would rather stay home or hang out with his friends, you remember those years when your just to cool to be with the parents. :-laf

I like the MC, but man that's a lot of peso's for a little extra leg room, and plus I'm not riding back there. ;) :-laf

I test drove one last weekend. I was impressed by all the room in the back as I had to sit there while the salesman drove it off the lot. And the interior layout was nice, but man the bench seats were HORRIBLE. After about the 15 min test drive my back was killing me. Also the gearshift wanted to twist from side to side in my hand, which made shifting a challenge a time or two. But the will start out in 4th gear (missed 2nd at one stoplight). I wasn't to crazy about the shift pattern but that is more than likely something one could get usto. The truck was a 2WD 2500 with about a $40,000 price tag.

Since buying my Megacab the minivan stays home alot more. Our 6month old daughter was a little much for my 96' Clubcab. I hated having to lift her into the the back of the old truck. I was also concerned about her young hearing and my loud 96' CTD. The 06' is whisper quiet compared to the old one. I'm still not sure about the looks of the outside. I will say the headlights on my 06' are way better than the crappy headlights that came with my 96'. My old truck needed a BriteBox to make it driveable in the mountains.
