My wife and I test drove a new 2017 with 4.10s last week. I put it thru several full power runs up to 60mph. The 4.10 surely is a strong runner. I did notice one thing for sure. You have to be real attentive at shift times. Just a micro second before the shift I think the engines ability to TQ manage kicks in and defuels just a bit. Is this a protection device? Or is it just the feel you get all caused by the aisin? The shift was positive but not as strong as my Suncoast 68RFE.

If it didn't torque manage even the Aisin would not live.

Sag, I in no way was being critical. I have essentially have done the same thing for 10 years with my 68rfe by paddle shifting. When I roll up to a grade. Just before I think it is going to downshift I slight up on the pedal just a little and shift. Was just wondering if owners of aisins felt what I felt. I will say that when I turn up my Smarty with this Suncoast trannie this 6.7 is awesome. Get the HP up to 475+HP and TQ up close to a 1,000 it is a beast.
