Had ordered a diesel SRW, then had a change of heart and a great offer on a HEMI dually and took it!!

Man what a great truck! Been driving her all day. The Hemi drives like a raped ape and sounds awesome! Nothing like driving something that size and feeling like it's a hot rod.

Very glad I went with the dually, been loving them for years!!

I know, I betrayed you guys, saved some money and I only pull motorcycles anyway. Drove off the lot for $30600.

Here comes another driving attack, got to go put on a few more miles! This is a great board, I'll be here.

Nothing wrong with a gas truck, whats important is you got something that meets your needs and your happy. Congrats.

Thanks guys, Dave, I'll try to make it, don't know if I can. If not I'll certainly make the next one with some notice. How often do you guys get together?

We get together every so often - maybe every other month or so. There's over 80 guys on our list - most from WI. I'd say we've met about 1/2 of the guys in person. We could have 20 or so tomorrow - but who knows. Email or PM me your email if you want to be on our list. We send out info by email when we get together. Hope you can make it tomorrow!

Congrats on the new rig:cool:

It will pass anything except a gas station;)

I was tempted also but with a 60 mile daily commute the answer was go for the big C :D :D . Jeff

If ya didn't need the Cummins :( ya sure didn't need the dually!!! :D

Keep us posted on your milage. I'm getting a consistant 20mpg :p

Anyway, Congrats on the new truck!

Jet brought it to the Hooters meeting yesterday. It's a nice looking machine!:D Nice to see a Hemi between the frame rails of a new vehicle again. :)

Now let me get this straight. You guys go to Hooters and you look at a TRUCK??? And you want US to believe that?? :D :D

Bankrupt-

Well, ya see I could let the CTD go but not the dually!! How could a man of good conscience let both of them go!! Oops, sorry CTD guys. Anyway, it's not ever about what we need is it? If it was we would all be driving VW bugs!

Dave, it was good to meet you and all the guys. The scenery wasn't bad either.

Yeah, we looked at the trucks, but I think the real headlights were inside!!

My neighbor bought one! Nice! Sounds awesome. He took me for a drive; very nice.

He also has a Cummins -- he runs a yard care business. So out my front window there are always two nice looking trucks -- a Hemi and a Cummins; plus my Cummins in my driveway.

Testosterone fix.

MAK-Now that would be my preference to have one of each so I could have a Hemi day or Diesel day. Oh well, had to make a choice. Now I have to be patient for aftermarket performance upgrades-patience is not my virtue.

Yep, drove a 2500 4 x 4 SWB HEMI yesterday.

What a dramatic improvement in power-plant! Like having a NASCAR engine.....

Nice growl under mild acceleration; revs thru the roof as soon as you tap it, truck sprints like a sports car! And the auto transmission (5 speed) is way improved as well.

Only two things wrong:

Max tow of 10,000

Watched the fuel computer sit at 9-11 mpg till I romped it and then it went to 5!:--)

jheimer-

yeah nothin's perfect. All I pull is 2000 lbs! When I buy a truck this expensive the last thing I worry about is mileage at12-13. Also last I checked diesel is more than gas.

Remember, CTD another $4500 and 550lbs and slower off the line than a HEMI. I'll take the V8 exhaust over the diesel exhaust.

Just my 2 cents, we are all different. I love the diesel too. I used to have a V10 at 7MPG! This seems like heaven.

Turbojet, I know what you mean, its what you want. My wife asked me the first time I bought my 2000 CTD 3500QC 4x4 ETC auto, why I bought that big of a truck? Ends up its the same reason I traded and got the 2002. I'm nuts when it comes to vehicles :D

Pit-

I hear you. I've spent way too much money on my rigs. But isn't that why we work? It can't be all to pay the bills. Probably should have bought a Geo Metro, but what fun would that be. I guess the mileage would be bragging ground!

I really love the new Dodge though. They have way more style and personality than a boxy Ford or plastic Chevy.

It's true, TJ, it's true... if all I pulled was 2000 lbs, I'd sure get over those WVA hills alot faster!

And I would buy the HEMI.

But I tipped the scales once last year at 21,300..... GCVW

Enjoy your new ride!
