I asked this a couple of months ago. I found some good deals on duallys but didn't want a dually. Seems like, if I remember, you had to get a Dana 80 from a 3/4 ton (wider) and also the spindals for the front wheels (narrower). Plus remove the fenders from the bed and have some body work done to cover up all the holes. OR maybe you had to replace the whole bed. Nobody ever said how much it would cost. Guess it depends what salvage yards have and how much they want. But it could be done with those axle changes.

Ya, thats what I thought. And the time involved... . ouch. I crawled underneath of a 02 3500 at the dealer with a flashlight one night to take a good look. I could picture doing it, but couldn't picture me finding the parts. I'm glad the police didn't drive by. Dont know how I'd explain what I was doing. Plus there were those who said it would ruin the re-sale value. And those diehard dually owners who just asked WHY??? :D :D

It's really not worth it. I looked into going the other way- converting a 2500 to a 3500. Buy a 2500 if you just want a SRW. As you can see in my sig, that's what I did :D !

See... theres one now... . dually owners... hehe :D

I couldn't fit a dually in my garage and still get around in there... too much junk in mine. I need all the room I can get. Thats why I dont have one. I like duallys but just dont tow and haul like some. Maybe a few years ago I would have tackled a conversion like this. Thats why I stuck it out to find the right 2500.
