Just curious -- Was your 2004 a Series 600 or a HO 555? The fuel settings for the 555 are pretty different from the 600/610's from what I understand.

Couple thoughts come to mind:

1) Maybe your mixture is off. Was it the same batch between the two vehicles? If so, how long did it sit? Could it have gotten stale? If it's different, could you have messed up on the 2nd batch?

2) Run some pump diesel and see if you still have the smoking problem. You may have something else going on and the fuel is "clouding" (excuse the pun) issue.

Hang in there & let us know!

Ok here we go

The o4 truck is a HO 555 with a dr performance module 115/230 stage 4 no other mods to this truck .

The 05 is a 610 with dr performance module 100/210 ?? stage 3 no other mods to this truck.

Yes it is possable that the 2nd batch of fuel was not as good as the first I ran the first batch at 50/50 mix just wanted to make sure it worked. then mixed up the 2nd batch tryed running it at a 75/25 mix it started and ran just fine that night in the am when the motor was cold that when it smoked the worse took about 7 to 10 min to stop the at lunch the same thing and at night the same needed to get warm before it would stop.

The next day added diesel to the mix back to 50/50 better but it smoked in the am.

Went on road trip that night to burn off some fuel ran cooler/more power and got 19. 5 mpg running 75 to 85 mph 2100 to 2400 rpms runs better on 50/50 mix but here the thing, my 04 running on the same mix will not smoke no mater what i try to do floor it from a stop all it will do is sit you back in your seat and spin the rear wheels :) lug it up a hill no smoke :)

running it at 50/50 just a bit more but will be going to more veg soon.

the 05 is back on norm diesel for a bit, :( what is the difference in the fuel systems could it be the cat on the 05 (not one on the 04) making it smoke or could the computer be set on the 05 to be richer intell it gets more millage on the truck for break in it has about 2,600 miles on it the 04 has about 29,000 on it could it be that the there was a small amount of water in the 2nd batch of fuel I did have a hard time pumping it pass the water block filters but the sample i took looked clear and when let stand it did not cloud up after 3 days so i am not sure what the problem was/is ,going to cummins dealer to pick there brain only on the fuel systems difference more on that next week

thank for your time
