i had no idea that the install of a DSS system would tighten my steeering up that much. i had already replaced the track bar and steering stabilizer and they helped but the DSS is icing on the cake.

I put one on also ,along with 2 new pcs of linkage at 50,000 miles they were loose, and drilled and taped all the linkage 1/4-28 ,and installed grease fittings all over the front end!She drives like new now,my 1997 truck ,had a total greaseable front end! The DSS is a good bank for the buck! But DC likes to sell front end parts. This truck was never off pavement!

DSS works good for 2-WD trucks too. I put one on about 20,000 miles ago and I love it. It tightened up the steering just as they say it does.

go to www.solidsteel.ca

That'll tell u everything u need to know.

I have 1 on dads truck 4x4 and have one sitting on shelf for my truck (too busy to install at moment) GREAT product.

When you guys installed yours, how did you tighten everything up? Did you tighten the bearing bracket down on the sector shaft first and then tighten the four bolts that mount it to the frame? Just curious how you guys did it and thats how the instructions said how to do it. Bearing firstm then frame bolts.

The DSS it the greatest mod ever for the Rams. But bear in mind it won't make up for other problems especially worn trackbars. But when everything is right with the front end it will make it steer like you always wanted it to... it will go where you point it!

OK that does it for me. I'm calling Rip tomorrow and ordering one. :D

Well got the DSS from Rip ($175. 00 to my door) and installed it last night. I/2 hr to install. super easy.

Drove the truck to work today and what a difference. I can stay in my own lane:D

I think it says to tighten the bearing bracket last in the instructions. I put the cross member bolts in first and lightly tightened them. Then I tried to get the new steering arm nut right in the middle of the circle. Then I tightened down the four cross member bolts and installed the bearing and tightened it down.

Just got mine today. Can't wait to try it out but first I am replacing all the ball joints, track bar, and various steering components. Thanks Rip.
