I can't get the dss bearing assembly off of the pitman arm shaft. I don't want to put heat on it. I did put never seize on the shaft during assembling. Im replacing the steering box so I need to get this thing off. Thanks, Gregg :confused:

Would a penatrating oil help at all? And or some hammering with a brass drift ? I have been using and, have found that Copper Cote lasts alot longer ( it also doesn't change the torque specs. One should derate torquing by 40 % when using Never Sieze. ) when used on under vehicle parts then Never Sieze. Girlfriend just loves when I am working with Copper Cote because she knows that she is going to get it on her. :D

For your girlfriends sake, maybe you should be a little more selective where you use that stuff. :{

The DSS claims you can remove the modified pitman nut by inserting a wrench inbetween the bearing and the steering box "in case the assembly will not come off. " or something to that nature on their website. Im sure you have gotten it by now, but if not try removing everything at once then use a drift or brass hammer to seperate all the components after they are on the ground. Good luck!
