with fear of starting another war, I am going to ask for personal experience wth the different manufacturers of the DSS. Positives, negatives, etc from the $130 version from PSC.

I got the PSC version. Works great but the bearing install into the pitman nut/shaft was a PITA! I had to use a press. It worked great once it was on.

Got my DSS from PSC. It fit but the bracket hole for the pitman nut/bearing was off a little. It's been fine for a year or so now.

Is this the piece that goes from rail to rail and connects to the steering box? I have been looking into getting the entire package. I am hoping this PSC has the track bar setup also. I just did the Maxx Links and WOW!... what a difference.

A bolt on steering stabilizer that is supposed to dramatically improve the handling of our weekly built front ends

no supposed about it!

I have one, I don't think mine is a PSC and I paid a whole lot more than $130. I bought mine from Rip at Source Automotive in Milwaukie, OR. I originally thought there was about a 50% improvement in the slop. Oh was I wrong, after taking the 5er out I discover that when Towing there is hardly any slop in the steering at all. If the PSC model delivers the same benefit as what I got, from the one from Rip, you will not be unhappy.

It definitely reduced wander. I can let go of the steering and it will track straight. It did nothing for the 2" of steering free play though. Was it a worthwhile addition? Yes. Is it the magic answer? No.

Well the only way I can tell you how well theese systems work is my experience with the first stabilizer thingy. The DSS (As mentioned before Darins, Steering Stabilizer from Solid Steel industries) has been on my truck for 3 years now and I still swear by it. The most immediate thing I noticed was how much more "responsive" the truck is in tight spaces like parking lots. More wheel turn for the turns of the steering wheel made.

The steering box moves ALOT on an unsupported or UNstabilized stock dodge. Add slightly more tire width under the truck and it moves ALOT more. The brace keeps the box still and makes the tie rods and stuff do what they need to do ... ... . turn the wheels.

There are now alot of different versions on the market.

Thanx guys. I plan on doing more to stiffen things up. I have the 19. 5's from Brentz and I am more concerned with the increase in weight I am having to push around now. I am thinking that PSC will be the way I go since they seem to have everything I may need for the front. One stop shopping I guess you could say.
