dtc 2503

Truck showing dtc p2503 charging system output low. Voltmeter is lower than normal, just above low end of the red on the dummygauge. Any help or advice on what to check?

Batteries only reading 11. 18 with my mutineer, with the truck running.

With truck running, unhook batteries ( with rags to prevent a short) then check the cable voltage to see what the alt voltage is sending towards the batteries,
Although, I had a very similar case and it was one bad battery.

Truck just died as I pulled into oreillys, batteries drained, now won't start. Both cracking batts are less than a year old plus I run a deep cycle marine batt in the bed
