i hooked up the lock-up switch on the DTT this weekend,

i hit the switch and it will lock the conv. but when i un-lock it it will stay locked until shut the truck off and back on again

if i don't hit the switch it works fine

any ideas??

Thanks

Scott

Is the lock up switch the smart controller from Bill? Maybe you don't have it wired correctly. I have the instructions on the wireing if you need them. I can scan them & send them to you if they will help.

GFrance

there is no controller hooked up just the switch

i have the instructions at work, just not with me

i'll have to look at them tomorrow but i do think it is wired correctly

Thanks

Scott

I just installed this weekend and im sure its hooked up right but mines got the second gear starts and i have turned the voltage reg. all the way up and down but there is no difference. Ive can turn the toggle switch on and off but its still in second gear. I got mine second hand and dont have the jumper so i used two male terminals and a small piece of wire for the jumper had to grind one down to fit the smaller slot. Do i need to make another one for the other two or is it just totally wrong?

Did you call DTT?

I have a lockup switch and it works fine. I still have the relay (no jumper). I have a 53 ohm resistor on the ground side of the switch to keep from setting codes, and doing second gear starts.

I would still call DTT...

i have called DTT and i have been waiting for 2 days now for a call back

i called a month ago 3 times for a different question and never did get a call back

i do not have a jumper installed

where do i need to jumper to?

Pull the power distribution cover (kind of by the brake reservoir) and pull the trans relay. Make a jumper using a 1" long piece of wire with two spade connectors. Place them where the relay once was. See picture.

The jumper is only needed on the 94-95 trucks?

What is going on is the computer sees an open circuit and set it to limp mode. A pull up resistor is needed.

He has an 01 and i had to put the jumper in mine also. Just did it last night. It went in the two larger slots just like the illustration showes. Good picture.

Every 24v truck I have ever done required a jumper.

Just make sure you use sodier (spl) with every connection. Just say NO to crimping, butt connectors, and scotch locks.

Bill Called from DTT and he said pull the relay and use a jumper

Fox has a great idea too i think i may try that one first

Thanks for all the input guys!!!
