My stock trans started shifting odd at around 139k I pulled the double deep Mag Hy-Tech pan (I put that on shortly after buying the truck with 75k for more volume and a place to monitor temp) and there was black yuck on the bottom. I always chenged the filter & fliud @ 12k intervals, so I was a bit upset when I saw the junk in the pan. I changed filter & fluid and adjusted the bands (per the shop manual) and drove for a week - no difference - dropped pan again - same junk. So I went DTT and have been very happy for well over 15k and just over a year.

As far as cost, I didn't need the DD Mag pan so that cut $250 off the price so I think it was still like $3,400 with no billet stuff. Each billet piece is going to run you in the $6-700 range. I did a few bombs immediately after taking care of the trans and dynoed @ see signature. Still shifts like it did after it was done. Best money spent - really gets the power to the ground. Bombs away!!!

I drove up to DTT's shop back in Dec and had my 47RE replaced by the masters themselves. My stock transmission had 118,000 miles and lasted less than 6 months after installing my Edge Juice W/Attitude. I got the billet input shaft etc. installed. The TC puts power to the ground that really makes the truck feel alot better. The shifts are extremely firm. Make sure you are very honest with them when discussing your HP and towing weights. I had them set things up very firm since I occasionally tow with GCWR over 16. 5K. The 1-2 shift is a bit much when running empty. That is a compromise I am willing to make for a transmission that will take the loads we put on them. Price wise I spent ~5K installed with all the goodies. Not cheap but I plan on driving this truck at least another 200K miles!

congrats on the transmission. . it is really the best bomb a guy can do. It's so worth the price. I never thought my truck would shift like this... then again I never thought mine would smoke... . would beat ricers, fords, and chevys... . and be so streetable. Man I love these trucks :D
