SO i got my new Diesel Performance Trans (DTT) Stainless intake form Stefan (check R&D Forum), and WOW, what a great show of craftsmanship. Installing the intake horn was a SNAP. All you need is two intake gaskets and your gold. The bracket for the dipstick is nice an sturdy as well. On my first drive i could tell the truck had more pickup on accel, i would too if i had to breath threw the stock intake and went to a nice flowing one.

I also at this time wanted to add a 2 micron Fuel filter befor the CP3. so i had the local machine boys make the bracket i designed that mounts to the head, just infront of the intake. i had my first oil Bypass mounted there so i had to move it.

The oil bypass i moved over the exhaust manifold side of the motor. i build up a custom bracket out of some sheet metal. it bolts to the open threaded holes on the cyliner head between the exhaust ports. its angled towards the valve cover at 45 degrees. the Aluminium cylinder you see i had made, so i could have mult ports. the best part is the oil temp sender is smack dab in the middle of the oil flow. i have a oil sample port, and a blocked port for my future oil pressure sender.

I love making things! the wife gets mad that i have to "work" on a new truck.

Nice work. I'd be curious what that oil temp sensor reads. I suspect it might read very low.

Did you account for radiant and convective heat transfer from the exhaust manifold in designing that bypass filter arragement? I notice you painted it black.

i thought of that. i have some rubber isolators on the mounts for the oil temp sender "bar". I had the oil temp sender in a brass "T" off of the oil pump and it read about 10-8 degrees below coolent temp there. even with air flowing over it, that aluminum bar is 1/4 thick on the outside so should stay warm. If anything i can get heat wrap for the filter, but im sure it will be fine with that air that does flow by it.

That's good. I have mine in the filter head and it reads extremely low there. Highest I've ever seen it is about 175°F. Been wanting to relocate it, but can't decide where to put it (or how).

ya have to call and talk to Stefan. or drop him a line on the 304 stainless intake thread. I just got back from my test drive, seams that EGT's are down a little, and smoother takeoffs. as far as my oil temp sender, its reading just a few degrees below coolent temp now. i hit it with my infered temp reader, and it does not look like it is getting heat soak from the exhaust or from the mounting plate... looks good.
