After several months of planning the 89% full billet transmission is in the truck. It's been in over a week but I waited till I had towed to post anything. When the transmission was first in the truck I was impressed but not overly so since I had read so much about how great these things are. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't dissapointed but I had expected a lot. Had to pull the gooseneck this weekend, bout 12000 pounds, holy cow, now I'm impressed, Oo. Oo. Oo. , this thing rocks pulling a load, shifts are just as firm and crisp as empty, deffinitley puts the power to the ground. We even hooked to a sled this weekend, stuck it in the low side on the t-case, tightened the chain up, got the green flag, started the sled moving and floored it, shifted to second then to third truck finally spun out at about 290 feet. Thanks to DTT, John, and the rest of the crew at Floor It Diesel performance. :-laf :-laf :-laf

My DTT parts are sitting at my installers place just waiting my turn. I can't wait!!!!!!!!. He said right after memorial day weekend he can roll on it. Patience might be a virtue but hell with that, I want my transmission!! ;)

I got the whole nine yards except billet output. Right now I don't do much towing or boost launches, and waiting won't cost toooooo much more on the billet output because the whole transmission wont need to be dropped.

Anyway congats, enjoy your new prize, by the way did you get the smart controller? and if so, what do you think?

Yeah, Clayton you're right about not worrying if you're gonna leave transmission parts laying in the road when you get on it, those days are gone!!!! RMalone, I didn't get the smart controller, I'm just gonna put a convertor lock and un lock switch in, I was runnin outa $$$$$ fast, these things don't come cheap considering I bought everything billet they had to offer.

Glad to hear you finally got the transmission taken care of. The DTT family will take care of you with their top notch customer service.

At least now no one can give you that crazy look because you still had a stock transmission.

Yeah, I feel a little more secure knowing the transmission will handle the power but I still worry about that little stock turbo, I hope to have a solution for that in a week or two, and then a set of injectors, I think then maybe I'll be done, but probably not, these Cummins are addictive in the never ending quest for more!!!!

G. woody you said it "addicting"!!

I'm sort of worried about that tiny stock turbo myself. My banks will run it to 38 psi. I think a turbo upgrade is in my future also, but you know "addictions" sooner or later they get expensive. :-laf

Hey Gary,

The truck is doing alright, just looking to go faster. And yes, the smoke is still bellowing.

Now that you have the trans done you need to get some more air for that fuel. Selecting a turbo, or turbos, is a tough decision.
