I was wondering how many people we have now with the DTT trany. mods, and how they still like them? I think it was the best mod. I have made to my truck by far. :)

Dtt Mods

Yep,

I had a TC (91%) and towing valve body done by Massdiesel and Mopar Muscle on Memorial day weekend last year (2001). Truck had 2200 miles. Batman drove my truck on Saturday AM and went and did the deed further than me shortly thereafter. I only have an EZ and 275's and it sold him. Batman pulls a 5'ver and I pull a 11K pounder 24' enclosed race trailer. I just got back from towing to northern Michigan state last weekend for the first tow with the DTT Smart Controller installed two weeks back. Beauty with my PacBrake.

We did 950 miles in 14. 5 hours and never saw over 115 degrees pan temp in the transmission and had half the winter front on the whole trip which went from 30 degrees to 58 degrees ambient and back. That's 65. 5 miles/hour, average, with 4 stops boys (girls were with us, 4 vehicles).

I have spoken to Shanti, Bill, Stefan, and Vinny numerous times on different things and they are the best, Thanks all.

DTT Rules

Love my truck and the DTT transmission mods are a big part of what I love about it. DTT RULES:--) Oo. Oo. Oo. :D

What about the BD products, anybody had any experience with them? There aren't any installers around me that use DTT's stuff, so I may end up with the BD. Any comments?

In the works

I just sent off the money to my installer for an 89/vb and master kit so as soon as he gets it and we make a date it will be in, for you I'll tell you that you will absolutly not believe the difference that it makes, you wont even get out of the parking lot before you realize what it is all about, you cannot believe what a piece that stock transmission/converter is, you really need to ride in a truck so equipped and you will go :--) Just like I did, I will report back!

boatman, It was installed in Ogden at Bakers Diesel. Jason did the install he has done several and is pretty good at it, mine shifts great, you can't believe the difference it can make. Email me if you want further info. Chuck. Oo.

Settle for nothing less than DTT

I have only 250miles on my DTT stuff but am thus far amazed daily at the difference and pleasure that has become driving my CTD. I make things up just to go driving.

TKOBI, I don't know what faciliaties you have access to, but the hardest thing about the install was getting the **STUPID** crossmember out from between the frame rails. Everything else is just a matter of taking your time and listening to WHATEVER Bill or Stefan or Vinny tell you to do. This was the first auto I had ever removed not to mention open up and start pulling stuff out of. As you can imagine there are NO installers here in Hawaii, but Bill will help you throughout if your willing to put in the time. It took me 12 hours total split over 2. 5 days but cost only $42. 50 at a local hobby shop. Call DTT and follow the light. Good luck.

TKOBI,

The guy who installed my DTT upgrades is in Southern PA (Lebannon near Harrisburg). Don't know where you are located in MD but it might not be too far for you. If you want his name and # ship me a PM. He did a nice job for me and I know he has done several DTT upgrades for others as well.

I still like mine as much as the day I got it. It tows very well although I do need to have the shift points adjusted. It seems when I really lay on it, the 3-4 upshift takes too long. Just haven't had time. Also- seems like after backing If I don't shift from reverse to neutral before going into park, it really slams hard and don't sound too good:rolleyes: . But all in all, I'd do it again!!!!!!:D :D

BD Transmission

I had a BD transmission and torque converter installed in my 98 12 valve, it works as advertised. The difference from my worn out stock transmission to the BD is nothing short of phenomenal. The true test of DTT or my BD will be how long will it last. I don’t think I’m the only BD owner out there, either were a quiet group or we have no complaints. Your about to spend a large chunk of change, shop around. The new transmission is like driving a new truck for a whole lot less money. :D

Mass Diesel

Give Scott @ Mass Diesel a call. He's on this bord too. He'll do it in a day and do it right and treat you right.
