Anybody using one of these things on their 05 or 06 trucks?

Does it get rid of the shift between 1st and 2nd or 2nd and 3rd that DC says is "normal"?

Does it make the transmission shift firmer or what does it do?

Thanks

It fixed the shuttle shift 232323 on mine and took care of the flare shift in mine as well, drive daily in the towing mode, lengthens the shift points about 200 rpm and its great for me

My brother just bought a 07 5. 9 and said it hunts more than his allison used to, would this be something for him?

He is planning to put some sort of power chip/box in it, if that matters at all.

I called DTT the other day and told then of my lil' problem. They told me that the problem is a govenor solenoid and or a govenor transducer. They also said that it may or may not fix the problem he stated that this is an electrical problem more than likely. He also told me that this really isn't all that good for my transmission, shifting back and forth like that.

So I called my DC service center to find out if they could work on my truck.

They told me that this is nornal for my truck to shift like that. :{

I asked when the factory rep was coming to town. Guess what, he is in training this week and going on vacation next week, same kind of story just different this time. #@$%!

This has been a problem with my truck almost from day one. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but aren't these things supposed to use all 4 gears? I mean they did go to the trouble to put 4 forward gears in there.

I have owned many cars and trucks in my life, I have raced, worked on, re-built totals, built numerous engines and a few transmission and so on in that stretch of time ( 95% Ford products) but this is a new one on me that a dealer and factory rep would say that it is normal for 4 speed automatic to skip second and then come back to it after it goes from first to third.

Call me crazy 1-2-3-4 makes more sence than 1-3-2-3-2-3-4.

But what do I know I'm only a consumer.

I been thinking about trying the shift improver. I have the 1-2-1-2 shuttle but only on light throttle slight incline slow driving.

Another fault, at least feels like one is I think the converter clutch is taking longer to engage at times.

There is this kit: Chrysler Dodge Reprogramming Kits that is interesting too along with their separator plate here: Separator Plates

I wanted to do the transgo kit but am afraid of making a change that can't be reversed without buying another valve body and who knows if both mods are compatible.

I had the shuttle shift worse on mine and fixed it with a new solenoid, pressure sensor and a couple Sonnax valves in the VB. Worked great for stock and the minimal TQ management tunes on the Smarty. Another plus is I now have fluid circulation in park.

Smarty #5 and moderate TQ management gives hand and flare shifts unless you are aggressive on the pedal so the Shift Enhanser is going on today to see if that will cure those problems. :)

I did the governor solenoid TSB for this fault but that didn't do a thing.

Please post back how it goes.

After about 60 miles of driving around and thru San Diego and up and down Mission beach blvd, I can say the DTT piece helped tremendously. Pretty hard to test the tow or race settings cuz the daily is enough to get into trouble in traffic. Even with the sloppy converter it takes very little throttle to get to 40 mph and it runs thru the gears nicely. The only thing I can see that is slightly off is the tendency to not downshift fast enough if you work the throttle too many times in the 20-25 mph range. It seems to get a bit confused for a 2 count then either hsifts or goes. Only happens when I am accelerating and have to dodge ricers bent on self destruction so it is not a major problem. The hang shifts and shuttling is gone at light throttle which really make sit easier to do passing and merging in traffic without just blotting out the sun with smoke.

Still too much smoke with SW#5 for driving around here so backing it down to 3 to see if that helps.

I had pretty much solved the shuttle shift and hangs with the stock power and Smarty mild TQ management but the moderate TQ management caused a lot to come back which is now addressed. I dropped the VB and replaced the manual valve and pressure regulator valve with Sonnax parts. I also replaced the gov solenoid and pressure sensor, and, cranked an extra 5 lbs of line pressure into it.

I am happy :) . Next step is a custom Goerands triple disk TC so I can use all this low end now. :-laf
