Just follow the directions

Jeepthing, just read the directions, read the directions, and reread the directions.

Then take out your air filter box and intake tube to give you some room, set up something to stand on, and get a bright light. The numbers on the wire connector blocks are hard to read.

Remove the sill plate and bolster on the driver's side, run the wire harness under the carpet to under the seat. Put the wire harness thru a slot or hole cut in the clutch master cylinder grommett.

The directions are pretty good. Did I mention Read the Directions?

You'll love the controller, get a second person to help in the driving/setup adjustments. {it says this in the directions too}

Jeepthing, what Lsfarm said, oh, and rread the directions. Fortunately, I did not need to reset any settings, they were already where I wanted them.

smart controller

I have a DTT vb and am saving for the tc.

Can you use the smart control with a stock tc and would there be an advantage?

Thanks

Tom

Mounting

Jeepthing, I am using some velcro to keep the box from sliding around under the drivers seat. The wires to the box pretty much limit the location to under the seat. Unless you make a new hole to run the wires through the firewall, then you may have some more choices about where to mount the box.

Tom: As far as using the Smart Controller with the stock trans or TC or just the DTT VB, I really don't know, I'd give Bill K a call to find out for sure.

Hope this helps, Greg L

JeepThing, what year truck? It is simpler than it first appears.

Read the instructions, then look at the diagram. The wiring is very straight-forward.

TKilgore, you can use the Smart Controller with the stock VB however, you will NOT be able to utilize the second gear lockup function hence, no exhaust brake retarding in conjunction with second gear.

The Smart Controller is one awesome device... far and away better (and safer for your TCC) than my old BD TorqLoc was! BTW, that's not an opinion, it's a matter of fact. The Smart Controller has evolved into the best thing invented for the 47RE (IMO of course :D ).

Even though I found the instructions to be very detailed and quite accurate, I would watch out for the pic of the micro switch installation... as it's an older pic (unless they have updated this), it's somewhat misleading... camera angle and the fact that the bracket needs some tweaking for an exact placement of the micro switch stylus is not accurately portrayed.

Another benefit of the Smart Controller... IF expert advice is required, it's only a toll free phone call away. :D Vinnie is the resident installation/diagnostic expert that will answer any question/concern you may have.
