My brother in law just finished installing one & all I can say is WOW! With this controller he now has lock up down to about 18 MPH! I gotta get one of these for my daily Seattle commute, & for pulling the 5vr or should I say for decelerating with the 5vr in tow. This thing is truly awesome IMHO!!

Clay:D :D

Sorry for the ignorance but..... why would you want lockup at that low speed and RPM? I HATE that my '99 locks up the converter at 25-26mph in 3rd. It lugs the engine unless I mash the pedal to kick it out of lockup. I quess I'm missing something here?

You want "lock up" at slower speed due to how hot the transmission temperatures can get in "fluid coupling". Do you ever get stuck in commuter traffic? Trying to pull a heavy load over a steep grade and need to manually downshift into 2nd? The transmission temperatures can get to 200+ & without lockup it will continue to rise. Do you have a trans temp gauge so you know what your transmission temps are?

The DTT Smart Controller is an awesome component if any of the above conditions exist or if your using an exhaust brake.

Clay;)

I sure love my smart controller. Thanks DTT

Headed to the coast tomarrow with 5vr in tow & I know I won't have to even touch my brakes coming off the coast range.
