I have a 2001 4x4 dually 4:10 automatic truck with 400 hp. I have a DTT converter, valvebody and TC saver. The problem is that when merging I obviously have my foot to the floor. The truck will only go 65 mph in third gear. To go into 4th gear I have to let up on the throttle, let the converter lock, then go into OD. This is the pitts!!

I called Bill and he told me it is a CA truck and tough. To fix it I need a Fed computer. I have spent way too much money on stuff that doesn't work like I was told it would. I can't afford to T-R-Y this fix. I need to be assured it will work. My trans temps when towing uphill are 280 degrees with synthetic fluid. Any ideas on lowering these temps.

I need any and all help- Thanks

I have the TC saver,it works ine for me,i have to let up in 3rd too. if i dont back out of it,it will rev to 3400 before it shifts. Ive tried new springs in the VB,and lower line pressure,it can get aggravating when dealing with these problems, hang in there, and you'll get it right with time. Ive found that fixing these problems is more invlved than actually performing the work itself, but the what you learn from fixing them is invaluable. Bill K will work with you,I know some vendors that tell you to go fly a kite.

I agree with what Snow man says. This problem way out of Bill K's fixing. This is part of the emission bs that is on CA trucks.

Just keep working with Bill, he goes way out of his way to make sure his customers are happy.

I'm getting the Fed PCM.......

Mostly because I don't like the check engine light being on constantly. I was told of the problem before I installed my DTT stuff. I checked some junk yards on the east coast and they will sell one for $250 if you want to save a buck. I prefer to get a new one.

You didn't list what you have in your sig. but on my truck (10K lbs) I rarely have to floor it to merge and that's with the lunatics out here in Ca.

Just my 2¢ worth,

Garrett
