My DTT transmission with the double-deep Mag-Hytec pan uses the older style transmission filter unit that doesn't have the metal / plastic backer or perimeter on it - it's all filter media. DTT says to just ask for a 727 transmission filter. My builder says to ask for a filter from a '95 or '96 model truck.

Does anyone use this older style filter and have a DC part number or a NAPA number? Or will the parts guy know what I'm talking about?

I believe the Mopar part # is 3515996, and the Napa part # is ATP14942. You can also order it from Geno's Garage. It's the one listed for the 94-97's. Hope this helps.

Your builder is right. I usually ask for a filter from a '97. These filters have more holes to allow more fluid to pass through. Stick with these.
