Just ordered my valve body and after talking to the tech asked for a medium firm shift. I have the power puck installed and am wondering from all you guys who have installed a chip and a valve body how does your tranee shift now!

You will not believe the difference once its done, better feel. feels like the engine is connected better to the rest of the drivetrain.

RR - I originally had the medium shifting valve body from DTT, but I thought it was still a bit harsh. I had a small problem with the VB and Bill switched it out. The new one is the livestock version and I like it a lot better. The shift is still VERY quick, just not harsh. My shift points changed with the new VB. Under light to medium throttle, I'm shifting to 2nd at about 18 MPH, 3rd about about 32 MPH, and 4th at about 55 MPH. At WOT, my shift points are even higher - great for towing.



The TC is the cat's meow. I got the 91%, but if I had it to do all over again, I would probably go with the 89%. That TC is VERY efficient. The lag with the 91% is noticible if you don't have a LOT of power. I just installed DD2's last night to go with my EZ, but haven't been able to drive the truck yet. Hoping the injectors will help with the lag - I'll know tonight :D

You have ordered the same VB as mine. You will get much quicker shifts,very smooth, with no harshness at all. The DTT VB is supposed to work at its full potential with the DTT TC. I'll let you know more after next Tuesday, as that's when I'm scheduled for a 89% to be installed @ DTT. I would suggest that you do a Mag-Hytec pan @ the same time you do the VB. It makes fluid changes much nicer, cools much better & stiffens the trans case up to resist torque better. Have fun!:)
 
My truck has the medium shifts,and its a little firm,my dad's has the medium shifts and its perfect. I found out that the 5 clutch pak upgrade increases surface area,and the 4. 4 ratio 2nd band apply lever also causes rougher shifts than the 4. 1 ratio my dad's truck has. With your stock transmission,the VB will feel great,nice shifts,quick and firm. I wish mine shifted a hair smoother at light throttle,but its perfect at full throttle,firm and solid.

(9,000 lb) boat if I towed for work it would be a no brainer. The puck took care of the annoying overdrive kick out on interstate overpasses in flat Florida. It sounds like the medium firm is what the doctor ordered!!!
