Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) dual ehaust

I have a 1997 3500 auto with 10 plate no muffler of kitty. I have a friend that owns a muffler shop and he said I can run dual 3 inch ehaust by putting a 4 inch to 3 inch y pipe. I thing that would increase my egt's. Am I right? The reason he wants me to install 3 inch is his pipe bender only goes to 3 inch.

No it won't increase your EGT's. It may lower them, but I don't think it would be a drastic improvement.

I've given stock exhaust systems to a couple of folks who used them to make duals. Both said no change in egts.
