I was wondering if the 4" dual exhaust has much drone? I was looking at rips dual system, but any input would be great.

:)

One of the guys I work with has duals on his 01.

He said there is one @ around 70 but goes away at higher speeds.

He likes the system, I will send him this like and ask him to reply.

ive installed many dual exhausts on the 2nd and 3rd generation dodges, if you have a supercab long box you might have a drone, its just something that is characteristic of those trucks. You can install a reverse cat and that helps a lot. This is with MBRP exhausts, there great quality to, the 406 ss stands up nice guaranteed for life. Hope this helps

As GRW stated above I have the MBRP duals on my 01. I love the sound but she drones at 70mph (2000rpm). I find it more annoying in the morning than driving home. Overall, it is quieter than I though it would be in the cab. My 71 chevelle makes the drone seem quiet compared to its 2. 5 inch duals with Flowmasters :-laf

I have a quadcab short box. Is the drone comparable to a 4" single, or worse?

I too have some flowmasters on my 74 Power wagon, dual 3". She resonates like crazy!!!

thanks,

Jeff

I wouldn't know. I went from the stock exhaust to the 4 inch duals. My truck is a long bed. Don't get me wrong, I still like it. Haven't been on a long trip with them though.

I installed MBRP 4" duals, no problem with a drone here! I installed the system on my 04' short bed.

No, sorry. It pretty well followed the path of the origional and exits behind the right rear with a chrome tip. .

Duels

pwerwagn, I have a set of Rips 4" duels, sounds good, I haven't given them a good run yet, like pulling the trailer, so I can't comment on the drone. I had him install a resonator and the longest Donaldson muffler he could fit under it.

Take a look in my readers gallery, go to the bottom and click on user links, there are some pictures of the duels with 5" tips.
