Is it possible to run 2 stock lift pumps? I have a new lift pump that I haven't installed as well as the original one that is on the truck now. I ordered the relocation kit from Geno's but I was wondering is it possible to use the one mounted on the frame rail to feed the one on the engine. Also if the one on the engine fails would the one on the frame rail push fuel through it? Hopefully Santa will leave a F. A. S. S. under the tree this year.

2 stock LPs' in series will deliver too much PSI for the VP-44 to safely handle on a steady basis - many of us DO use 2 pumps - a "pusher" pump similar to the stock LP - and the stock LP in a series configuration. BUT in our case, the "pusher" is usually a pump regulated down around 7 PSI or so - which still delivers a bit more than stock PSI, but still within usable range for the VP-44.

And yes, when these pumps are used in series, either of them stalling/failing CAN block off fuel flow even if the other one is operating perfectly - so use of some form of bypass valve around each pump IS a good safeguard...

For some info on pump bypassing as I use it:

BD has been using a 15 psi pump as a pusher for years, they don't run on start up,it does work :D

I did the Vulcan relocation. The only difference is 1/2 hose via 3/8 for Geno's, I believe. I think you will be happy after you do that mod with your fuel supply pressure. You will likely find out that two pumps in series is not required.

Thanks to all for the answers. I hope one day to be as smart as you guys so I can start answering some questions. Man if the dealerships were only as helpful as you guys.

Some of us are ;)

pressure isnt an issue. I run a holley black and a stock pump, 27 psi at idle no issue. actually has more top end. the pressure is ok, it does change the pump calibration though, but it seems to be for the better. this has come from bosch engineers. theres a thread here somewhere on it
