Engine and Trans Swap

While driveing up I-65 in Kentucky Mid August, was passed by a 2nd gen. 1 ton, black extended cab with dual rear axles. Each axle had duals. Was finished and detailed out nicely. By the time I saw the truck and checked it out, it was gone and pulling a fiver at the time, could not catch up with this modified truck.

Anyone know anything about it?? Cool looking truck !!

If anyone finds out anything about this please drop me an e-mail and let me know. I've seen a couple of these and have been hunting information on them. Would like to add to a dually or even build a tandem axle single wheel rig.

Charley :D

I know tandem axles sounds really nice but there are a couple of things to think about:

Here is CA it will cost you extra on every toll bridge because of that extra axle. I think it is $2 more.

It will also cause you to get a commericial drivers license. You are looking at a ticket and if the cop is really having a bad day a possible impound.

The big hit: You now have to go 55 MPG not 65 just because of that extra axle.

Side note: Buying a Duce from miltary surplus would probably be cheaper. Yes it would not look as good but its GVW and GCVW would be more and would not affect you daily drive.
