My summer tires are Pirelli Scorpian STR A. LT 265/70 R17 121/118S E. Max load 3195 lbs at 80psi.
Winter tires are Nokian Hakkapeliita LT studded snow tires. LT 265/70 R17 121/118Q E. Max load 3195 lbs @ 80psi, 3120 lbs @ 80 psi dual.
No issues of dual tires touching. Haven't picked up rocks between the duals on forest service roads. Tire chains on the outer wheel of the dual don't rub the inner.
I'm runnig 265/70r17's too. I'm running the Toyo Mud Terrains. I ran them with no problems untill I loaded my Gooseneck with the the Jeeps. They started touching some. I had a 1/2 inch spacers laying around the shop and I threw it in and no more problems. I would prob be ok if I wasnt running the mud terrains they have a big lug side wall. I'm guessing if I had street tires it wouldnt hit at all.
Thanks for the info, anyone else? Might just go with this size next time around, really loved the service the Michelins gave me, but since I'm done hauling heavy and hardly putting any miles on the truck, I might just step down a bit .
