Can someone confirm whether or not our 1st gen dually fenders are two different fenders or each the same one. - ie use a passenger side fender on driver side? I guess I haven't had them off to compare or looked at them real close. I took off my busted driverside fender today, the truck looks much better now!! Each one has its own part number fwiw. Driverside 3739776, pass side 3739772. Thanks, Bill.

sorry amigo - I think they're different. I think the front edge is lower than the rear along the body.

They're definately different, I just went out with a tape and measured mine. They are offset slightly toward the front, just enough so you would never notice (about 3/4"), but enough so you couldn't use a drivers side fender on the passenger side or vise/versa.

I don't know guys, I put my busted up fender-driver side, up to the passenger side and they are the same 'looking'. That is, what used to be the rear part of the fender on DS, put it up against the front on PS, identical. Since I have no complete fender to compare to, I won't know for sure. I guess to know for sure, I could remove the passenger side and try to bolt it up to the driver side. . hmm maybe later, I'll post my findings lol.

Interchangable?

No they are not, but your question brings to mind the thing my grandaddy used to do with his shoes. He was raised in the south after the war and really came up hard. He would buy his shoes big enough that he could wear them on either foot. He got double mileage from them since he had a bad hip and wore them severly on one side.

If you do try the right on the left, left us know how it looks. You might start a trend like wearing your hat backwards.

On an extremely practical note, don't throw the back piece away. Someone (me) might need it to fix the back impact on theirs.

James, you are right. They are definately NOT interchangeable. No where near close, I tried, negatory. Good thing, I might have bought a fender, and would just end up having a spare passenger side. Now if CRAIG WOLF, would get back to me :-laf , he supposed to sell me a pair... where ya at Craig, hear me now?

Speaking of the fenders, has anyone recently tried to get the spacer that goes between them and the body? Mine are warped out between the screws. I haven't tried yet, just wondering if they are extinct or not.

fender welting

A buddy of mine recently bought a set. They are thirty dollars each and since then he is researching as to whether there is an aftermarket item that is better priced. He thinks he can find the package and part number. If so, I will post that as well.
