A guy I know just bought a 3500 and it has a nice flatbed on it. I put a set of tires on it today and he said that he wished he could find someone to trade the flatbed to for a dually bed. So if any of you guys know where one is or want to trade for yourself let me know and I will put you in touch with him. And his truck is red, that would be a big bonus!!

I've been looking for a deal like this to swap on my road PU. If interested, mail me. I dispatch out of Bristol, IN

bmoeller, to me close. . . is a relative term. A thousand here, a thousand there, pretty soon they add up to a few grand. On my way to Chesapeake, VA by 3 in the morning. Gonna be butt deep in snow in the mountains.

Cheers,

Steve J.

It's not the distance, doesn't mean much to me either. Don't have time to go that far. Wouldn't want to have to have them come that far to do the swap. There are several places here that sell flatbeds. Some of them aren't priced to bad either.

I found Aluminum Flatbeds for $1,100 and Steele beds for $5-6 hundred depending on the length. Nobody in the town I found them would do the install, and I couldn't get the thing home. He wanted to Ratchet strap one to my running boards atop the regular box. I said, "Sure", would be junk before I hit the state line. I really prefer a body with skirting and clipped corners, gotta have storage boxes though. The more the better. Don't really care about a headache rack since I have a sleeper, just someplace to hang lighting. Ain't gonna stop a 5er anyway. Sure picky for a cheap ole dude.

Hi Ol'Trail, to tell you the honest to gosh truth, I'll have to go and get my atlas to even tell you what city it was. I'm on the road cross country everyday. Rarely know what state I'm in or what time it actually is. I remember it was Southern Indiana though. Nuther driver put me on to them. I went there just to see the beds. Been a few months now, maybe 4 or 5. Fella had a yard with maybe 5 aluminum and around 8 steele. He was letting them go at wholesale getting out of the business. He just sold the beds as a sideline to his real business. I'll get back to you, I'm locked in and can't leave the shop right now. Leaving for Oregon tomorrow, don't know when I'll have Internet again. Flying J raised their WIFI from $99 to $199. I'm still POed and haven't renewed, not sure I will.

Cheers,

Steve J.
