2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Dually marker lights as turn signals?

Gents:



I wired the front marker sticks on a friend's Freightliner that worked like what you want: ran one side to batterr side of front turn signal and ran the other side to battery side of parking lights. Solid light when parking lights on, blink when turn signal on.

That is what I'm looking for. ( Solid light when parking lights on, blink when turn signal on. ) Will this work for my 99 or is the wiring different? I have leds in there now.

Sorry that ant going to happen with LEDS, The only way to do it is with the oringinal bulbs, one wired to tail Pos. one to Turn Pos. on front of truck. (Not to rear because lights will go off with brake lights on).

Even with using the factory wires and everything it wont work? All I am replacing is the lens with the light. Same factory mount and wire harness.

I dont want to get rid of my leds as I just ordered clear 12 led markers.

I still may try it with my old 2 led model 19 marker lights that are installed now. Same factory mount and wires just different light. They snap in and out. I cant figure out why leds wont work but the factorys will if its the same wiring?

Do a search on what you are trying to do. There was disscussion on this same subject in Sept. And the guy was very happy with the results.

Wiredawg hooked me up on my 2nd gen stock marker lites. No problems at all for 2yrs. Now I'm wondering if this mod can be done to a 3rd gen without getting a lamp out lite. Yes the markers will come on with the brake lites..... but no big deal for me.

I always do a full search before posting a new thread (question). This isnt the only site I've posted the question to either. I am an idiot at wiring and cant find a straight answer to MY question so I'm asking for help.





I will find out this weekend by trial and error if the "led marker flasher mod" will work or not on a 2nd gen and post my results with pics if I succeed.
