I checked my rear brakes and found one inner pad was down to metal (not good) so I want to have the rotors turned. How do I get the rotor off it looks like the bearing and rotor is one assembly, It can't be that hard

My 04 Dually went 160K before its first brake job... you need to pull the calipers on both back wheels and look for damage to the boots... . we found that the boots were damaged and the piston would not retract back correctly allowing one pad to wear excessively... ... . Too much dirt behind the boots... . we had to put new kits in the calipers... and because of how rough the pistons were. . we replaced them as well...

In most cases... . a large brake lathe needs the hub attached to the rotor to turn it..... We have such a lath so we just pulled the complete back hub and rotor... chucked it up in the lathe and turned the rotor. .

You pull the axle from the housing... . remove the keeper that holds the nut tight and back off the nut... .

Inspect the bearings and grease them before you put it together... and than check the oil in the rear end.....

Thanks, I must have something wrong with my caliper on the one side because I have only 51,000 on mine. No exhaust brake, I know that helps a ton.
