Whats size tires can I put on my dually without them rubbing? I would like to put taller ones on , stock are about 9 Inches wide I am looking at 13 inches. Is there a spacer? or do I have to buy rims too? Still debating going to singles in the rear.

OEM size or possibly one size larger is the only size that will fit without rubbing, spacers, etc. To run the size you mentioned you would need spacers and longer studs. Why would you want 13" drw?

H- I was looking at Nitto tires and the 315 tires are a little over 12 inches wide. I do mostly highway driving, and have 4:10 gears I would like to reduce my overall ratio. My other more logical choice would be a gear venders over drive. ,However I like the look of a truck with a set of slightly bigger tires. A gear swap would be a expensive alternative. Harvey what are your thoughts.

I have 295/70R17 I love them and they do require a spacer. I found a guy who makes stainless steal spacers with additional lug nuts. That is the only way I would go and they definitely dress the truck up.

My thoughts on the question are not worth much, it's a matter of what you like. I don't think the cost, which will be considerable, could ever be recovered by added fuel mileage. The difference in fuel mileage between a Ram with 3. 54/3. 73/4. 10 gears is small.

If you want larger tires for appearance I'd suggest keeping it within reason. Spacers between wheels will leave you with lug bolts that are too short and posslbly outside rear tires that extend beyoned the fenders and sling mud or stones on your truck or following motorists. Could get you tickets in some jurisdictions.

HBarlow, I know it would be near impossible to recoup the money spent in fuel saving, however I do not like the sound of my engine at 65-70 mph 2300 rpm is too high at 65 I want to be 16-1800 .

I don't think you can drop engine rpm at highway cruise speed 500 to 700 rpm by simply changing the tires if you choose tires that will fit inside the fender wells of your truck and allow full lock to lock steering input.

You're talking about reducing engine rpm by 20% to 25%, not easy to do. Remember, you will also be drastically altering launch characteristics of your truck ie creating a need for slipping the clutch and drastically altering towing, handling and braking characteristics.

The engineers who designed and built our trucks have many reasons for selecting the components they built into the finished product. Radical alteration of individual components alters that balance and usually results in unintended consequences. It usually creates a vehicle which is no longer comfortable or practical to drive also.
