We have a lot of snow packed and icy roads here, and the single wheelers have worn ruts down to the pavement. When I head down one of these roads with my dually, it feels like the rear end is all over the road. My theory is that the tires are fighting each other to see which one gets to the bottom of the rut first. Has anyone else experienced anything like this, or is my behind just too sensitive????

Fireman, I am going to drag your scrawny A$$ up here and introduce you to SNOW. :D :D Hey Dean, let's go get him. Oo.

If it ever it snowed in Alabama, Fireman's nose would get blocked from watching it fall:D .

A dually is not as good in the snow as a SRW, but I have noticed a huge difference with the AA LS axle. I have never driven the SRW with the LS so I cannot compare, but I have had Duallys since 1986 and this new guy is awesome in the snow.

Relax shooter your behind is just fine. Wiggle Wobble is a common problem but the benefits of duallys outweigh the inconvenience. Snow will soon be gone & then we can giver again

Take a look at the tire tracks in untracked snow. The design of my '99 is the front tires make a path with a furrow on each side... then the two rear wheels run right on top of those 2 furrows. In all snow conditions it feels like it is tail wagging down the road. . even in 4wd. Very unnerving but just the way it is.

I agree with Fireman, what's snow? The only snow I ever see is what's in the snowcones at the fleamarket!

Current weather is sunny and 76!

If I'm on a snow rutted road, the back end does get kicked around. It's a weird sensation, with the back end movin' around and the front just pullin' along. In fresh powder, it tracks straight. I agree with Dean - this truck is damn near unstoppable in the snow.

Thanks guys. I have driven trucks all my life, most of them 4wd, but this is my first dually (except for the wheat truck and it never saw snow). I was pretty sure nothing was wrong, but it still feels wierd. Getting used to it though. I don't get too worried until the back end is in front of the front end.

Thanks

Steve

This CAN happen on dry roads too! I have had the truck dang near jump lanes in Sheet ca go on rutted pavement. Scared the hell out of me the first time. I have the same problem on snow but it is like a contant fish tail that you are alwasy trying to correct.
