Ok, I had a major senior moment. I was using Dri Wash and Guard to wax the front end of the 5th wheel. To reach it, I had backed the truck up to the 5ver and was standing on a stepladder I placed on the tailgate of the truck.

When I was finished and got home, the wax that had splattered down onto the inside of the tailgate had dried. My black Line-X now has light blue polka dots!

Any suggestions on something that will strip wax without hurting the Line-X?

You might try Mineril Sperit (paint thiner) about 1. 5$ at Wal-Mart Try on small area out of sight. Don't seem to hurt if used with a rag do not splash it on seems to remove tar ect from the paint from my truck with out hurting the paint. LOL Ron in LOUISVILLE KY.   :D

Ron,

I've tried WD-40, but it doesn't cut the wax. I guess mineral spirits (as you suggested) and, if that doesn't work, lacquer thinner are next.

I was wondering if some of the paint & body stuff like PrepSol (sp) that's supposed to strip wax and kill silicones would bother the Line-X.

Peanut Butter ?

You might try peanut butter(don't laugh it works). I have got wax on my tailgate the black part, molding, door handles and after a while you get that white haze on it. Rub some peanut butter on it(you might try a small tooth brush) and see what happens. I read about this over on www.vwvortex under there detailing section so I decided to try it and it works. Don't get the white haze on the molding anymore cause I use Klasse All-in-one and then Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze.

I read an article about removing hard water staines, wax ect from black plastic body moulding. It said to use vinegar with water. What the dilution per each is I can't remember. Hope this helps.

As long as its not near your paint you might try a wire brush... I don't think you can hurt Line-X. I tried a toothbrush dry and it does not work. .

Rusty, you might consider some wax removers designed for hardwood floors??? How about the black streak remover from Camping World?? Just a thought. Good luck!!

Don't have a HONDA powered pressure washer. I am sorry to hear that!!! SNOKING

How about "Mother's Back to Black" not sure maybe somebody else does. I have a few wax spots on my Linex liner but have not had time to try it. Maybe someone else has and can tell you. Lets not go into how I got them on my liner!! For sure another senior moment!!! :--)

Man, first the bumper and now the bedliner. Is Sandy starting to to worry about you yet. :)

You think Brake cleaner would get it out without hurting the liner?

There was a guy who got Line-X on his... ... "man parts", put I can not remember how he got it off. I would think it could get the wax off if you use it VERY carefully.

Hey Texas Diesel, I remember the hurcaliner on the hootus incident. That is perhaps the funniest thing I have ever read on the net. I don't remember which site it was on, anyone have it... .

how the heck did he get it on his "man parts"?? I'll bet thats an interesting story. .

Anyway - I use Simple Green and a toothbrush to take not only the plaque off my teeth ;) but wax residue off of the nooks, crannies, decals and the black bumper strip running down the side of my truck - Works real good!

Well, he was putting in one of the Herculiner "do it yourself" bedliner kits without using gloves when nature called. He unzipped... . well, I think you get the picture! I can't remember which forum it was on, either - another senior moment, I suppose. :{ ;)
