Just got back from a sneak preview of the new movie. I recommend going to see it this weekend! It has lots of great comedy, and Jessica Simpson is top notch. It has a lot of stuff that is not true to the original show, but it is definitely worth seeing anyway. The only downside is there are a few less classic Mopars on the road because of the filming.

I've seen behind the scene's vid's from the making of the movie, and they crashed a few chargers (2 alone doing the freeway ramp jump) :{ :{ :{ :{

If your going to this movie thinking its a tribute or sequal to the TV series... ... ITS NOT... . and from things I've heard it will be somewhat of a disgrace to the TV series. That being said I am going to see it, but only because my 3rd season Dukes DVD set had a free ticket in it. ;)

Don't go to see it thinking it will be like the original, because it definately was not. That said, It was good semi-clean (some bad language in there) fun.

I heard they really hacked it just like they did Starsky and Hutch. I guess the only bad thing is most of the people going to see these movies have never even seen Dukes of Hazzard or Starsky and Hutch so they get the wrong idea of how cool the shows really were back in the day.

I just don't think I will be able to sit there and listen to the most fake southern accents I have ever heard which they seem to use from the previews.

accents

Andrew, i agree 100%. . even I COULD speak better Texan being from California than that "jack*****". . no pun intendid :rolleyes:

I've been watching reruns of the Dukes on TV lately. What a hoot from the past. My 11 year old son thinks it's a great show! Might have to take him to the movie.

Thats okay. my primered 86 mustang gt 5. 0 has a confederate flag painted on the roof. My Ram has a confederate front license plate. Remember I am in the war zone, known as southern california. HAHA

Flag is there as said. Seen the movie, was O. K. I'm old enough to remember the series. They at least used Waylons version of the theme song in the beginning. Using Willie was a good touch as him and Waylon did alot of work together. Burt Renolds as Boss Hog was O. K. too. I like the part where they are in down town Atlanta and have a run in with the brothers. Gang member,"Get out of the car red-neck"... Luke "we prefer APPALACHIAN AMERICAN". And I don't know many guys that think Jessica Simpson in "Daisy Dukes" is repulsive... Doug

... Oh and there's some good tunes in it too. From Skynyrd to AC/DC. It was pretty cool when they were drifting and then they jumped on to the freeway with "If you want blood, you got it" playing in the back ground. :cool: :cool: ...

Us older guys remember... this fine lady! :eek: :eek: :eek: :--) :--) :--)

Back when she was on the show. . she had her legs insured for 1 million dollars... Well worth the money!!!!

Reality check: She really wasn't that cute to today's standards, the dukes was like 78-85 and that would put me at 13-20..... yea she was hot then... ... Jessica is a cutie' no doubt but she could be my daughter :confused:

Good Pic of the ole' Daisy..... yea I see those legs!

I have not seen it and probably will not. I grew up with the TV show and know it well. From what I have read in magazines and here through the grape vine they didn't do it any justice.

I hate to sound like a spoke person for a womans organization but here it goes.

A word on Jess Simpson: She had a personal trainer buff her bod for this movie. She mentioned in the interview how hard she had to work to get her body into the shape it is in for this movie. She may very well look great, (and she does) but it's not the typical American woman. Basically, her curves are "manufactured" for this movie so don't get too excited over it. She also mentioned how happy she is that her workouts are much less intense now that the filming is over.

I don't believe the movie would have attracted much of and audience had the original LuLu played the part of Daisy in the movie version. It's a sales pitch guys. Just typical Hollywood.
