My battery (three years old) decided to take a nap early this evening. I charged it for awhile and it seems to be OK but do not want to use in case it decides to take another nap. Terminals were clean but I did re-clean and no luck had to get a jump.

I have a battery out of my camper and want to use till Monday so I can get an Interstate Battery (workaholic) that is big enough for this truck.

Only catch it is a deep cycle marine battery but it has enough amps to do the job for a day or so. Will this mess up the charging system????

Need advice as soon as possible.

Thank

Jim

Update.

Exchanged battery this AM and all is fine. Summer heat here in AZ is bad on batteries. Going to get Interstate battery tomorrow and put it in.

Thanks for the reply. I thought that the deep cycle marine battery would be OK but just wanted to be sure.

Trying to get a jump off is not easy, small car batteries just won't due it especially when your battery is done for.

Thanks again.

Battery Question

RamAz, I have a '91 W-250 and have had very good luck with Optima battery's. Normally, I get about 4 years out of them as opposed to 2 years from "water-filled" batteries. I live in northwest Phoenix and know how hard the heat is on batteries. I buy them at Costco for $99. 99. Another nice thing about them is that they seem to just "fade-away" instead of just dying. When I notice my starter motor working a little slower, I buy a new Optima, put in the back of the truck and when the old battery dies, I have a new one real handy. You may find a couple of other messages on this same subject elsewhere. I couldn't figure out how to get this one on this thread. It's tough being computer-illiterate. Hope this helps.
