Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) dumb Comp. box question

Well I have read through several threads with shaky results. I know this is a beaten horse, but hopefully someone will have an easy answer. I installed my Comp several weeks ago in EZ mode, wire not tapped, well now I am ready to tap that wire!! The pic. and description is a little deceiving about hooking up the pump wire. It says the top wire closest to the engine (pass side). Well looking at mine today, the two wires coming out of the main VP44 plug, the wire that is closest to the block as I see it is actually the bottom wire. To me it looks like in the sort of blurry pic. in the instructions, it is in fact the one closest to the block/head. Just wondering if anyone has any clearer instructions on the wires? I also bought a posi-tap (black one) if I don't go with the one supplied in the kit. I really don't need the wire tapped, the EZ mode is great, but the thoughts of doubling the added power I have now is killing me!! TIA gary Oo. Oo.

The "Blue Chip VP44 Injection Pump Cover" on the bottom is just the ticket. It bolts on in place of your VP-44's stock cover, and it has a Sharp point that pierces the Pump wire inside the pump. Looks clean, and works well.

Get a blue chip cover. There are also other manufactures out there that make a cover, their's are also good.



If you tap the wire, do not use a scotch lock connector. They will corrode and in the long run can cause a p1689 error in communication due to a delta in resistance in the communicaiton wire.
