This morning as I was watching the stupid infomercials on TV I saw a new one, for the "Edenpure" heater (which apparently makes your room feel "like the Garden of Eden felt; before the fall, that is" - honest to God they have a testimonial that says that). Link . I can't figure how it's any different than any other quartz heater, except for the extraordinary price!

The company name is "BioTech Research: Better Health Through Technology". I notice they also sell an oil additive . I think their name should be "BioTech Research: Better Health Through Buzzwords"

I often watch infomercials specifically to see how they make wild claims (and more importantly, implications) without technically violating truth in advertising laws.

Anyone else have any good examples?

This one's another winner from the same company. Not a single word on what it does.

This company is a gold mine of amusing product claims!

The market is full of products that people think they want or need to feel good, but there is no way to actually tell if the products actually do anything. The Ionic Breeze is one that comes to mind. Yea, like plugging this little gadget into the cigarette lighter in my car is going to filter the air. Magnetic therapy and a host of other stuff. It all sounds about as useful as the elixir sold in the old western movies.

I keep seeing ads for a Ford Superduty truck, supposed to be the be all and end all. :-laf Yes rbattelle, you can giggle!

How 'bout a dog water purification setup? What's the point if the dog just got done licking its butt, or eating a dead animal? Duh.
