My build sheet does not say anything about it having LSD etc in rear axle. I have 4:10's. Looking briefly at the owners Manuel it says add LSD fluid?

Also, rear axle running at 175 empty. Normal ? 1500 miles on it, little towing yet.

TIA

The 12" is a clutch-type diff, so either additive, or LSD compatible fluid. No idea on the temps, but I can say mine was not nasty looking when I changed it at 20K.

Running light duty 75-90 and heavy towing 75-110. I highly recommend AMZ/OIL SevereGear, get rid of the OE JUNK at around 5k. The squeeze bottles are great!

Thanks. I'm going to start ordering the first oil change supplies here shortly. 75w140 with LSD additive. Amsoil by the way. The last RAM 2016 3.42's rear axle never got over 150 degrees ( after AAM alum cover installed) even towing 18K up hills.

I advise you call AMZ/OIL as I doubt the modifier is needed.

How are you monitoring rear diff temps? Pull over and shoot it with a temp gun?

Also, why would they go to clutch type on a 12" rear? As far as I know I have a 11.5" that is gear activated torsen rear end.
