Any of you have any experience with pull behind dump trailers?? I am looking at one out Florida, dual axle, 14000 gvwr, with 11000 capacity, 2 cyclinders for around $4k. I want to be able to dump a load of gravel without waiting ten minutes for the dump to go up.

Thanks for any input

I had a new BriMar dump trailer, single axle 5000 GVW, payload cap. 3800#. Sold it to an orchid farmer who used it to get a 3000# load of gravel. He said it dumped it real easy and was very happy with it. I would like to get a dual axle dump trailer about 6X12. I would not hesitate to get another BriMar. I looked at a Pronovost and quality seemed equal, but did not see it actually dump something.

Glen,

That would be great if you could help out getting it back this way, I am self employed, a two year old and a wife... . and no spare time so getting to Florida is going to be a real hassle and they want a ton of money to deliver. Let me know what you would charge to pull it back to NC. It would be a lot easier for me to get there. I am going to make sure the trailer is what I want and I'm sure I could work out payment over the phone for the trailer. Pick up is out of Gainsville. I'm going to speak with the sales people today. I'll let you know what I hear.

Thanks

My bro-in-law has a 4 yard bumper pull dump trailer. I think it's a Big Tex or something like that. It has two 7k axles like you say and I only recall one cylinder. It dumps in a very reasonable time compared to unloading by hand. Less than a minute for sure. He has trouble keeping the battery charged for the dump pump. It charges off the truck when it's hooked up, but it's not long enough to keep a good charge. He just hooks it up to a charger in advance. I've pulled it a few times to haul dirt, manure, skid steers etc. The paint job hasn't held up very well I think, but it does take a lot of abuse.

I have been looking at dump trailers. Bri-mar ( no affiliation ) looks to be a good trailer. Went to the dealer in Chambersburg PA right next to the plant. No freight. A goose neck 12 K runs in the 6-7K$ range and the 14K runs in the 7-8K$ depending on what you want. Getting a used one looks to be a good deal. Finding reasonable used is pretty rare. I will be getting it to be able to tow my tractor/Backhoe/loader. They make a 6'8 by 16 foot bed. With tie downs and ramps. My present 7K lbs car hauler is not up to the task- at least not legally. At a local dealer expect it to be a little more- plus freight. Good luck-4K$ for a used tag along seems OK as long at is in very good shape. Go to the BRI-mar website and look at dealers- find the one in Chambersburg PA give them a call. Can't hurt to compare what that trailer new would cost new- with new features. This is a dump/eqiptment trailer I am looking at. OBTW Chambersburg is on the south side of PA at I-81 That location may be better than FL. I had a busy weekend. Went to Mechanicsburg to look at trucks, went to Chambersburg to look at trailers. -none on the lot. But the plant was next door- No direct sales- Oh well.
